Food Stall Savers at Pyrmont Festival

The 2016 Pyrmont-Mudgee Food and Wine Festival piloted the Food Stall Savers food waste initiative over the weekend of the 14-15 May. The goal of Food Stall Savers is to reduce the amount of food waste produced at food festivals and farmers markets.

Festival organisers and food stallholders have been working with the Institute for Sustainable Futures to identify, measure and address food waste. Eleven stallholders participated in the research, participating in pre-festival interviews and food waste measurement on site at the festival. Over 130 attendees also took information on food waste over the 2 days.
